Cost To Open
(Depending on several variables such as square footage, location, building codes, the condition of the premises, etc., a franchisee will make an initial cash investment of approximately $195,000 to $325,000 by the time of store opening. This cost includes the construction of the store, initial inventory, leasehold improvements, furniture, fixtures and equipment, the initial franchise fee ($25,000), working capital, and training expenses. The ongoing fee for a franchise unit is Ebenezer's royalty of 5% of the gross sales, payable weekly. We also require that you pay 3% of gross sales into an advertising fund, which will be administered for the common benefit of the franchisees.)
Getting You Open
Ebenezer's franchisees possess a distinct advantage over their counterparts franchising other concepts. Our development and operational experience provides us with the ability to guide you through the often daunting task of opening a new enterprise. We are not only committed to getting you open, but also to creating an efficient and well-equipped business. Utilizing Ebenezer's franchise system, you will benefit from our ability to substantially focus on your needs as a new business owner.
Site Selection
Our philosophy in franchising the Ebenezer's concept places a paramount importance on site selection. As you may know, the three rules of retail are, "Location. Location. Location." Consequently, we actively research sites for our franchisees and must approve the location before it can be secured for the franchisee. Some of the following demographic characteristics are items that we seek for a new operation:
- Average household income of over $60,000
within the franchised cafe's market location
- High percentage of people within 5 mile radius
with education level of college degree or higher
- High visibility from a well-traveled roadway
with easily accessible ingress and egress.
- Nearby substantial residential and office communities
Lease Negotiation
Our intimate knowledge of the requirements of our coffeehouse operation places us in the best position to provide invaluable assistance when negotiating a lease for one of our franchisees. Having negotiated leases on behalf of both the landlord as well as the tenant, we understand the pertinent issues that must be resolved in order to close a deal. Since the leasehold obligation represents one of the largest commitments, we actively negotiate
in order to obtain viable terms for your new business.
